Itinerary:

 

Day 01: San Jose

 

Upon arrival at Juan Santamaria International airport, our driver will meet and transfer you to Real Intercontinental Hotel, a five star hotel located 20 minutes from the airport and from San Jose downtown (deluxe room).

Day 02: San Jose/ Tortuguero

 

Morning pick up at your hotel for a scenic driving through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Enjoy a typical breakfast and visit a banana plantation on the way. In Caño Blanco dock you will take the boat and begin a boat trip through the canals of Tortuguero National park, a vast tropical rain forest preserve and a special place to observe wildlife in Costa Rica arriving at Manatus Hotel in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the picturesque Tortuguero´s town and the small museum of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation. Dinner. Overnight at Manatus Hotel.

Day 03: Tortuguero

 

Early in the morning, boat trip through the canals of the national park with the surrounding jungle. After a delicious breakfast, you will take a hike with your guide to admire the tropical rainforest. Lunch. In the afternoon you will explore other canals by boat. Dinner. Overnight at Manatus Hotel.

 

Day 04: Tortuguero/Puerto Viejo Beach

 

Breakfast in the hotel, departure by boat and land transportation to Siquirres where you will take the private transportation to continue to Puerto Viejo Beach. Overnight at Le Cameleon Hotel. The most luxurious hotel in Puerto Viejo, Limon (superior room)

Day 05: Puerto Viejo Beach

 

After breakfast we will pick you up to enjoy a snorkeling tour in Cahuita National Park. When we arrive to Cahuita we will receive the necessary equipment to start the snorkeling on the reef. Then we will take a boat to the National Park. When we arrive to the reef we will enjoy the beautiful aquatic world for approx. 2 hours. After that we will have lunch and later we will do a hike through the trails of the National Park to return back to Cahuita where the car will be waiting for us. The tour includes transportation, local guide, fruits and beverages, guided walk through Cahuita National Park and snorkeling equipment. Overnight at Le Cameleon Hotel.

Day 06: Puerto Viejo Beach/ Pacuare River Rafting/ Arenal Volcano.

 

Breakfast. We will pick you up at your hotel. We’ll stop for a delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast along the way. Once we arrive at the verdant banks of the Pacuare River, our professional guides will instruct you on paddling techniques and safety procedures before you don your helmets, grab you paddles and climb aboard the inflatable rafts for an unforgettable adventure. The Pacuare is a swift flowing river that offers visitors a unique and exciting rafting experience within one of Costa Rica’s most unspoiled wilderness areas. In fact, expert rafters call the Pacuare one of the world’s best white-water runs. Lunch on the way. Continue to Arenal area. Day 07: Arenal Volcano.

 

Breakfast. Free morning to enjoy the area and the hot springs of the hotel. Overnight at The Springs Hotel.

 

Day 08: Arenal Volcano/ Monteverde Cloud Forest

 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Monteverde Cloud Forest, where you may spot birds such as the silvery-throated jay, spangled-checked tanager, black-thighed grosbeak, and the yellow-throated finch. Free afternoon, we recommend you to visit Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, one of the richest and most diverse tropical cloud forests in the world.

 

Overnight at El Establo Hotel. Quaker friendship awaits you in this hotel, set in a private 150 acres farm (50% protected primary forest) adjacent to the Monteverde Reserve. Day 09: Monteverde Cloud Forest

 

After a delicious early morning breakfast, you will be taken to Selvatura walkways; it’s an unforgettable experience, the excitement of looking to one side and seeing the tops of the trees and at the same time feel the sensation of walking among the clouds. Selvatura walkways is a unique system of suspension bridges that zigzag through deep canyons at the level of the treetops. Then you will experience the canopy tour and observe the cloud forest from a nice perspective. Overnight at El Establo Hotel.

Day 10: Monteverde Cloud Forest/ Manuel Antonio Beach

 

Breakfast, then you will be transferred from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio Beach. Overnight at Arenas del Mar Hotel (ocean view superior room)

Day 12: Manuel Antonio Beach

 

Breakfast, free time to enjoy the area, optional tours available for an extra charge.  Overnight at Arenas del Mar Hotel (ocean view superior room).

 

Day 13: Manuel Antonio/ San Jose

 

Breakfast. Private transfer to San Jose. Overnight at Intercontinental Hotel.

 

Day 14: Flight back home

 

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
