Barra Onda
Barra Onda National Park:
The park holds thousands of years of geological history, which can be seen in the numerous independent caves and stalactite and stalagmite formations.
There is a complex network of caves with limestone formation, 50% of which has been explored by scientists and spelunkers. Presently, only the Terciopelo cavern is open to the public. Its conditions are adequate for inexperienced visitors and are ideal for adventure tourism.
Location: Located in Guanacaste, in the Nicoya region.
Services offered: General information, restroom services, potable water, housing for researchers, a camping area, lookout point, hiking trails, radio communication, spelunking equipment for descending caverns, and local guides.
